The drive back to Southern CA went without incident, but not without its challenges. While in Coburg OR, 6 miles north of Eugene, and while Portland was having a fierce news making snow storm, Coburg got one heck of an ice storm. We sat for 3 - 4 days waiting for the weather to clear. It was aerily beautiful.
Fortunately we talked to several truck drivers at the truck stop at the end of the road, and they all assured us that the roads (specifically I-5) were clear. We noticed a few miles past Eugene, the ice was completely melted. The trip home was a breeze.

Starting a new Chapter

In December 2016 we purchased a 5 acre parcel of land on Whidbey Island, WA near Coupeville, the second oldest city in Washington. Here is a picture standing in front of a Hemlock tree with the "for Sale" sign clearly visible. After touring all of the contiguous USA and Canada from BC to Nova Scotia, we decided the most beautiful part of the US is the Puget Sound. This is why we purchased this land and plan to relocate our home to Whidbey Island WA.
The acreage has virgin timber and only a small footpath cut partially to approximately the center of the parcel to give an indication of what might be expected.
Here's a picture of Bob standing in front of a Hemlock tree standing close to the street. We have our work cut out for us! Unfortunately it's time to return to So. CA before the weather closes in on us. Developing this land will need to wait until 2017. We just hope the trip back will be uneventful.

It's been some time since posting our travels. The reason? We haven't gone anywhere new to show you. We have, however, started on a new adventure. In December 2016 we purchased a 5 acre parcel near Coupeville WA. Having traveled throughout the US and Canada, we decided that the most beautiful part of the contiguous US was the Puget Sound. So, I shall endeavor to show you the progress we've made on developing our land and building a RV Barn and home. Now to figure out where my pictures went!
