From Lake Pend Oreille
Lake Pend Oreille (pronounced something like Lake Pond O-Ray) located at Sandpoint Idaho, is a haven for railroad enthusiasts.

This railroad depot is under remodeling, so we could neither walk all away around it or go inside. We are told dozens of trains pass through here daily, and during our visit we saw several pass through town.

Prior to our ride on the lake, we take a time out for a quick lunch. Isn't the view from the deck lovely?

The boat dock is right in the city park with these nice sandy beaches. With free parking, it is an inviting place to visit.

The houses, not as large and elaborate as those which surround Lake Coeur d'Alene, seem warmer and welcoming.

The statue of liberty? Facing the wrong way no less, as if to say, go back, go back, enough already. There must be a story about this somewhere!
