EAA 2009 - The Airshows

From EAA 2009 - The Air Shows

Now that I hopefully have your attention with this photo, we can get started. The airshow always starts with the Liberty Jump Team, and as the US Flag is landing, the National Anthem is played; usually ending just as the jumper displaying the flag touches down.

The "Smile in the Sky" (the jump plane) lands having dropped off around 10 jumpers. The individual performers come next.

Mike Goulian in his Extra perform next. If Bob ever wants to kill me off fast, all he'd have to do is arrange a ride for me in one of these, which of course is impossible, since they only have 1 seat - but you get the idea!

I couldn't find the name of this wing walker on the EAA Website, but I know I'd prefer the pilot's seat and would let Bob do the wing walking!

The AeroShell team is always a pleasure to watch & have performed for as long as we can remember.

Next come the war-birds. These planes are amazing. Imagine finding one, usually in lots of pieces, restoring it, and then flying the darn thing. These pilots obviously have thicker credit cards than we do!

Sometimes we are lucky and get pictures of a few war-birds as they take off. The war-birds flying in formation use a different runway.
