Visiting the Home of the King

From Visiting the Home of the King

Next stop is Bangor, Maine, home to the real King, Stephen, that is! This is his actual house, and it's immense. I suspect he might actually write somewhere in the rear of the property, long out of public view. Never mind, what a gate!

Our first stop is actually Betts Book Store, specializing in Stephen King Books, where I am fortunate to meet the owner, Stu Tinker and his cute dog, Sammy.

Our visit was prompted by an ardent fan, Granddaughter Hailey, who has a 15th birthday coming up, and I could think of no better gift. Our visit was rewarded with books, a t-shirt, and directions to the King house, only a few blocks away - sweet!

The next two pictures show the fabulous gate to the King home, and another picture of the house.

Now it's time for a late lunch. Stu suggests we give the Sea Dog Brewing Co. a try, and we're glad we did. The food, atmosphere, and brew is good, and it's along the Penobscot River. What's not to like?
